There are a few problems:

i) ABT points equity shouldn't be buyable (beyond entering the tournamnet in the first place)

ii) Exactly how does it go into the prize pool? If it into the gerneal pool it can lead to a weird situation: Suppose there are only 3 people left (they will get 1rst, 2nd 3rd) and this method is used. What happens from then on should only affect those 3 players. Why should the other finishers suddenly get slightly more prize money due to the bye being auctioned?

iii) The amount someone bids might be based on who is left in the tourney so wouldn't be able to do the bidding until a round is completely over and then would take some time to take the bids. As things currently run could do something like start a round while one long match is finishing up and say something like who that winner and loser play. Couldn't do that if need a bid from every person who might get a bye.
