How about Option 3: “Overtime: A player receives 1 second after an initial clock expiration”?

This would of course mean they receive another delay setting before this reserve can be activated.

The point is, surely, that they STAY ALIVE in the match, have a second chance, an opportunity to wing it (virtually) on the delay. No need to give a whole minute of reserve.

Not all clocks can be set for 1 second of course. Well, if you want this option you'd better get one that can! The Excalibur reserve can actually be set for 0 without ending the match; it will still churn out delay settings.

I still think this should be an option (probably) only for events outside of the main and super jackpot.
