Something just occurred to me, though it's not meant to be part of the original opinion poll...

Suppose you're playing in a chouette, go for a drink of water, come back and it looks like one of your teammates just finished counting pips. You ask him the count. He says "We're plus four" (+4). Would you think he means you are leading by four or trailing by four?

Also... do you feel this is essentially the same question I asked you in the previous post, or is it a different question?

(I'm interested in how Mike or anyone else would answer this.)
