The PAIN in SPAIN!

I feel like you answered your own question. Taking into account the facts that you gave us it can be nothing but a double.
- The opponent may take
- If you're TG it's marginal at best
- You don't know how to play all of the immediate rolls
I also think your 'logic' that UBK mentioned, you being reinforced even more so that you'd have been dropped because the other player was taken, is flawed. Maybe he would have passed, who knows? We never will. But if he even takes 1 time out of 100 you should cube I'd guess. Are you really that certain that he was going to drop? No way.
If this really is a 'high stakes chouette' and you're holding an 8 cube where at best it's a marginal bot play on and it's the final game of the session it seems so clear to double for so many reasons, some of which are beyond monetary even. For instance, if you had doubled and been dropped as you expected you wouldn't have been annoyed and second guessing yourself the rest of the day (at least) and posting here on BGO. Instead you would have pocketed a nice little +37 points win and been of great humor the rest of the day with little need to second guess your decision.
