This was an unusual situation. LA had been the 3rd weekend in June the year before, but was planning to move to the 1st weekend. USBGF was not aware of that. At the same time, Niagra was going through the approval process for a new tourney. They were also unaware that LA was moving. Niagra was approved and announced about the same time that LA signed their contract. USBGF wanted to get one or the other moved, but neither wanted to redo their contract. USBGF is trying to put in stronger controls to ensure this does not happen again.
