IIRC the newer CPU has an optimized internal structire, so it is a little faster at the same clockspeed. I think it will get more than the 7% clockspeed it is slower. The smaller cache probably won't hurt in your use case. Naturally to be sure you have to measure, but I guess the difference will be small....
