In Response To: 42 to play vs. a 1/2 backgame (John O'Hagan)

I made the 4-point here. You really need that point and you'll get lots of gammonish return shots if White breaks the 23-point to hit. Wins are the same after either play but making the 4 gives you some extra g's and bg's.
