Yes, someone sent me the link and I see that now. I had taken Ian's post at face value assuming a player had resigned early. I checked the file and didn't realize it was the on roll player who resigned the match. I mistakenly thought it had to John who resigned which didn't make a lot of sense but makes more sense than Frank timing out in this position.
Frank, leading 2a 3a with an overwhelming position (posted below) had a 53 to play with 30 seconds left at the start of his turn. He had routinely been playing this game with around 35+ seconds left on his clock so presumably he was aware. As I've said in the past, timing out has to be the worst, most incomprehensible play I've ever seen. Unfortunately on the stream there is no audio so we can't tell what is said between the players. I think running out of time should be counted towards your PR in a BMAB event. It's just unacceptable. Like...how?
