The rules were not ignored. The rules allowed (and still do) for BMAB to not abide by the published rules in rare and unusual circumstances. Why is this not stated on the BMAB website? I have no clue! What made Julius' case rare and unusual? Timing out and the size of an error that strongly distort his average BMAB PR and make it pointless for him to continue playing in BMAB tournaments and/or make individual applications. Timing out by itself does not warrant a reset. There were several players who lost on time and yet those matches were included in their BMAB PRs.
