Why are the crappy books easy to get?

There are some recent good books that you can buy. Michy has three books out in his series, Opening Concepts, Endgame Technique, and Back Checker Strategy. There's also Dirk Schiemann's Theory of Backgammon. If you like collections of positions, you might like Backgammon: Pure Strategy by Marc Olsen.

It's not so recent, but Backgammon Openings, Book A by Ballard and Weaver is apparently still available from flintbg.com.

And since this is Stick's forum after all, I must mention Holding Game Guru by Stick. I haven't purchased it yet but I'm considering it.
