Not all on topic but this is an interesting article on valuing of stats. Notes that the stickiness of the rebound stat as far as player value is not the same as a steal (the methodology used loves steals) because a replacement on the team is much more likely to get that marginal rebound anyway whereas a marginal steal is like .96 more steals than if a replacement player is in the game. Also he values steals as "up to 9 points" value, I think that regression to find a high value seems to be against wins and losses.
