Running out to the 17 exposes 19 shots. Staying on the 20 only exposes 8, all assuming I counted right. OTOH, 5/2 risks having a second or third checker sent back, which wold be a problem if white had any semblance of a board. Also, if missed, being on the 17 makes it easier to slide by both white checkers.

I'll play for the not immediate hit and hope to slide by. bar/20 5/2,
