I should have been wise enough to realize that 10^i = e^b so can disregard the constants a and c.
Now that I see the answer to my question I realize I asked the wrong question. Changing the base does not address my problem.
To reiterate, if I have a series that grows at a 5% periodic rate, Excel's b will be ~0.0488; if at 10%, b will be ~0.0953. Excel's trendline gives the continuous growth rate, thus b will always be less than i.
I want to calculate i given Excel's b.
