If the conditions were bad, it's difficult to judge, whether Seqeuira (PORTUGAL) did move illegally by purpose or because the dice were difficult to see for him as well. Apart from that I am a fan of the "legal moves rule".

In any case I agree, that there are better ways to organize a World Championship. Why not convert the Nordic Open to be the real World Championship. The Nordic Open is the best organized backgammon tournament IMHO. Even better would be to have changing venues.

Still we have to recognize, that there were some positive changes this year. They used clocks and the consolation was progressive.
