18/10 is tempting. That cleans up two blots, makes a solid, meaningful point, and leaves no shots (unless you count those rolls that hit loose on our 24-pt). Note the pipcount lead of 6 + 8 - 4 = 10.

Everyone (hopefully) sees 5*(2) as a strong candidate. I'd prefer using one or two checkers from the heavy 6-pt to make that, but "a bird in the hand...". Also, the blot on the acepoint is a liability until it's covered. This play leaves 4 blots and at least an effective triple (27 or more) shot.

There are other candidates but I don't see one that I feel can compete with the better of these two so I'll leave it here.

We could have a contest quoting all the BG Rules of Thumb that apply to one of the mentioned candidates. (Extra credit for pointing out which of them Stick erroneously lays claim to coining.)

One thing I (not often enough) have to remind myself is that the pipcount lead isn't necessarily a race lead. When there's a lot of contact the position is a long way from a race. That discounts 18/10 somewhat. It's an early game with both sides jockeying for positional advantage. Making the 5-point grabs the first non-nascent point (a great one at that) for either side and makes it harder this turn for opp to build his position. I'm going with

5*(2).
