It appears that the key decision is "how many checkers do I move off the 23-pt"? Then we can decide upon the remaining aces.

Going through White's 36 rolls, it seems pretty clear that keeping *both* checkers on the 23-pt gives the most immediate shots. Thus all four must be played on our homeside.

4/1, 4/3 leaves our best homeboard for this turn. If we make that play there are some rolls next turn which might make us wish we had played differently. 21 in particular, and probably 31. In those cases 6/3, 6/5 look superior. And if we ever get to a bearoff, that 3rd ckr on the acept might make a (negative) difference.

There are a couple general principles (Rules of Thumb) that apply here: 1) when owning two points in the homeboard, if you've decided to give one up make sure the keep the deepest one. 2) Clearing from the rear usually allows you to keep your homeboard the longest.

6/3 6/5.
