My experience from chess tournaments

In the past I played a lot of chess and also participated in a lot of open chess tournaments. Organizers usually had two different approaches regarding the material.
Either in the invitation players were asked to take clocks with them to the tournament. Something you also see in Denmark at local bg tournaments.
Or the organizers had a contract with a supplier, chess shop, etc. and made kind of a deal. Something that also should be possible in bg tournaments. I know someone from a local (and big) chess shop here in Germany. I'll give him a call and will discuss several options with him. If this is basically an option for the shop I can publish more information here.
Even more interesting for big tournaments could be a cooperation with an online gaming server sponsoring the event. This could create a win-win situation for all participants.
1) A bg server announces and organizes a lot of online qualifiers. (I don't talk about the 2 or 3 qualifiers I've seen last year, I mean 20 or even more).
2) The bg server in addition organizes a webpage with results, short reports, photos, live coverage of important matches during a tournament (including small video streams and commentaries). I know that a lot of bg players who can't participate in certain big event are eager to get information.
Thus the tournament should gain importance and acknowledgement. This should attract more players to the servers and automatically more players to a tournament.
Ciao
