Most backgames you look for a chance to switch to a forward game. That ship appears to have sailed here. 13/11 looks like the deuce. Continuing the 10-pt looks natural, but...

What about 24/23*. I see two pluses to this play: 1) tries to improve from 24-22 to 23-22 backgame; 2) gives Blue a better way to play 66 if that roll comes soon.

But what about the minus: maybe you don't roll an ace until it's too late, and White pounds all over your back checkers turning a backgame into a Shackleton Expedition to save the gammon.
