Position of the Day 02-21-26

OtB I'm sure I'd just make the 5-pt on head. Best(?) remaining inner-board point, puts second opp checker on the bar, builds four point block of White's five checkers, what's not to like?
2*(2) is certainly a candidate. That pretty much kills White's backgame chances (can still hold any two of the {22,21,20} points but only 22-21 is still a true backgame, by some people's definition anyway).
Is there anything else? 22/18 making an anchor and hitting one of White's blots loose? It's not clear to me I even want/need the 18-pt.
One of the many Woolsey-isms is (paraphrased) "Don't be concerned with an opponent's backgame before he even has one."
One flaw in the position is Blue's owning the acepoint. That makes a 5--> 9- or 10-pt prime less than ideal, although IMO it's likely still correct.
This reminds me of a QF Trap -- convince the responders to make a bad play thinking the obvious play is just too obvious. Of course Stick would never resort to that, would he?...?...?
5*(2).
