White's timing for a backgame (three different second anchors are in the running) is currently just OK, but that could go South with big rolls. 15/10* (plus a choice of aces) helps that GP quite a bit. Yes, White still has to make the second anchor and that isn't guaranteed, regardless of how this roll is played.

I see a couple candidates that don't involve moving the checker on the 15-pt:

6/1*, 6/5 -- This play aims at getting that 6-pt stack into more useful locations.

7/2*/1* -- Taking the bull by the horns to prevent White from getting a second anchor. This seems like an all or nothing route, but White simply replying 25/24* doesn't end the game in most cases.

I realize there are other plays I haven't mentioned explicitly (e.g. 15/10*, 6/5) but I do know that XG often prefers hitting twice to prevent a second anchor. It's just that giving up the 7-pt feels like a major concession...

7/2*/1*.
