I'll quote Mary and Marty: What's Your Game Plan?
Option A: 24/23 (with some 3, TBD if we decide to go this route).
Option B: Step up with a back checker and try for an advanced anchor. Again, exactly how is a detail that can be decided later.
As the subject line indicates, either way is a bit clumsy since Blue would rather play only one die and end his turn. Those subtleties *might* swing the GP, but I'd rather decide on the direction I want to steer this game.
An RoT which is oft quoted/paraphrased is "once your opponent has made an advanced anchor you should go for one yourself." That sounds like reasonable advice here. Not only is the 20-pt a better anchor but here the 21-pt will have 6's blocked. So 23/20 and find an ace.
24/23 -- I don't like this since it diversifies White's attacking dice.
8/7 -- Pure, but is this too aggressive when out-anchored and tied in homeboard strength?
6/5 -- not pretty as it undiversifies, but all the effort right now should be(?) on the defensive side of the board.
23/20, 6/5.
