Although Blue's timing for this 24-23 backgame is not good, getting slap happy by hitting two White checkers doesn't feel right. With an escape route, maybe, but here Blue's only spare behind White's growing prime isn't even at the edge, and the escape hatch may be slamming shut regardless of what he does.

5-pt is (hopefully) an asset for the remainder of the game. And if White anchors on her 18-pt (don't know if that is the right ploy...) at least my upcoming 66 will either escape two or dump only one deep.
