The Backgammon Café - Tools for Backgammon Players

I just visited the site. Just off the top I see that someone (more than one person?) has put a lot of effort into this.
A couple corrections to your historical timeline (which is pretty impressive, BTW) -- unless you have more documentation than I'm aware of existing, giving the Indiana Open credit for the first regional tournament (1953 in the chart) may not be appropriate or warranted. I'd be very interested in knowing what info you have, and can tell you what I know, which isn't much.
Second -- in 1979, 'Gammonoid' (the bot had multiple names) actually defeated fresh off the block World Champion Luigi Villa, not the other way around as your page indicates. This is documented in multiple places, including Games magazine, a copy of which I have somewhere and can give a date of issue, etc.
Also I think the date of the "600 game match" between Jellyfish and "human champions" occurred shortly before Jellyfish's release, not in 1997 as your timeline shows. I'm pretty sure you can find more on this secretive event on the rec.games.backgammon partial archives on Tom Keith's Backgammon Galore website.
Overall the site appears impressive and I'll be delving more deeply.
