Bot Battle #136

Some observations:
A) Down 20 pips before this roll, Blue will still be down 8 afterwards. Safish plays like 21/9, 13/9 don't appear appropriate.
B) Is White in attacking mode? Probably depends upon how Blue plays this, but the distribution of White's checkers isn't exactly optimal for attacking, and then there's that just mentioned race lead.
C) Are the two checkers currently the 8-pt best located there or up on the 4-pt? The latter is better for attacking/hitting but the former blocks White's 23-pt checker and is a safe landing spot.
D) Blue's acept checker needs to be covered, and here's a chance to do that.
E) How badly does White want to make her 18-pt? With a race lead it's a double edged sword.
I'm down to three plays, two involving 13/1. With that, 6/2* is blitzish (but takes the last spare off the 6-pt) whereas 21/17 completes Blue's presence in all quadrants while duplicating White's 5's. Lastly the positional 13/9(2), 8/4(2) is a patient play that improves overall structure. Mentally going through White's next roll, this last seems to play pretty well as Blue's blot on the acept provides outs for attacking in the homeboard if nothing else looks better.
I'm going with "cute", passing the buck to opp to find a good roll:
13/1, 21/17.
