We just had a (somewhat) similar position: https://www.bgonline.org/forums/webbbs_config.pl?read=219553
Can we use that as a refpos to figure this one out? (Recall that was No Redouble.) Let's enumerate some differences:
1) In the refpos, White had already borne off two checkers. Among other things, that rules out gammon wins for Blue. Here they are still possible. Plus for Blue.
2) Blue wasn't on the bar in that position. Blue's 9/36 wiffs are a concern for him and a plus for White.
3) White was on the bar in that position. Another plus here for White.
4) White had one checker in her homeboard, easier to safe up (when missed). This is a minus for White here, but must be taken in context to above differences. (Unsure how to handicap this one.)
We already mentioned Blue's 9/36 fans. Of the remaining 27/36, 18 of those hit somewhere while the other nine enter without hitting. But of the 18 hits, White either anchors or return hits about 1/3 of the time so that reduces Blue's hitting sting to 12/36. Are those even market losers?
The Take is looking like the easier decision. Both sides can win gammons and although that isn't symmetric I'm going to ignore those. Owning the cube is good here and I don't think Blue should give it up yet.
