(I do see 8/2*, 22/18 but four blots and tons of return shots pushes me away from that.)
Static view: Race is not out-of-reach. 22-pt anchor is OK, but 4-primed with 6's blocked. 3-pt (with open 4-pt and 5-pt) is not the way to build a prime, although it's still possible. However this roll doesn't do much to help that cause. One White checker somewhat blocked is a plus.
Dynamic view: This 64 roll looks more like an attack/blitz roll than a blocking/priming roll. 2*(2) does offer up four return shots (plus two other jumping rolls) but there is some compensation in those cases because the midpt (and it's immediate hitting potential) is kept.
If White is left alone she still has 6 escaping rolls and a lot of building rolls: 9/36 make the 4-pt and {61,33} make the barpt. Several other rolls advance to the 21- or 20-pts, pressuring Blue to PoH, P&P, or hit loose immediately.
Meanwhile pointing on the 2-pt now gives Blue 9/36 fans plus {12,16} getting stuck on her 24-pt. As always it's hard to build a new point when you're on the bar. I'm going with PoH:
2*(2).
