sidelight: Decades ago someone (not going to even hazard a guess as to who) wrote that possessing (only) 24- and 20-pts in opp's board isn't a backgame, just a holding game.

My 'observations' have been that when opp (Blue here) has gotten past his 13-pt, these are passes. If both players still own their midpts it tends to be a Take. Of course here Blue has checkers back in White's board so these observations aren't especially relevant,... yet.

Hitting with the deuce doesn't leave a good 3. I guess you slot 6/3, and Blue will gladly hit that if given the opportunity. As Blue I don't want three checkers back.

22(2) isn't so much making an anchor to keep it, but rather to allow White to mess up her offensive side of the board. Of course it does avoid disasters, for now. It seems to me this gets priority:

22(2).
