One of those backgammon canons worth memorizing: for a single checker to jump a 5-prime when not at the edge requires about 5 1/2 rolls. (Credit to Jason Lee for deriving this. To be exact, if back 3 pips from the edge, the average number of rolls to jump assuming the 5-prime is static is 5.38.)
If this is even a Take now, an ace appears to lose the market. But there's that big IF. Whose winning chances have the highest gammon content? That's not obvious to me, either.
White's position is so pretty (and Blue's so ugly) that I'm going to Take. (Don't forget the axiom prime vs. prime positions are usually takes.)
