Already TMP; do we perpetuate that? I think its' going to be difficult to remedy the flaw this turn. 24/16, 9/5(2) does so, although there are certainly other plays to consider.
IMO the point that has to go is the 24-pt. 24/16(2) perpetuates TMP but may still be best. A big question I have is "do I really want to give up the 9-pt?" It's great right now for blocking escaping 6's, but at some point we want to close our 5-pt. That brings into the picture:
13/5(2). The main thing I don't like is the desert that Colonel Lawrence and his men must traverse. Add to that the awkward upcoming rolls that don't allow the checkers on the 24-pt to leave freely, pressuring the rest of the nice points made.
Even though this roll puts the pipcount in Blue's favor there's a long way to go and opp gets her chances to roll big numbers, too. This emphasizes the value of keeping one on the 24-pt for now, putting the onus on White to clean up immediately. Control of all quadrants fits that GP as does shoring up the homeboard, unfortunately at the expense of the excellent blocking 9-pt.
24/16, 9/5(2).
