Position of the Day 06-21-26

This position appears to be screaming "slot!". After 8/7 there are still three ways to play the 5: 6/1*, 13/8, and 23/18. (OK, 8/3 is legal and maybe better than one or more of the others.)

There are some non-slotting candidates such as anchoring 23/22 with 13/8 or 6/1*, 22/21 but those aren't all that appealing to me. They don't address the elephant in the room (err, on Blue's acept).

6/1* with the last spare on the 6-pt is often just plain wrong no matter how bad you need tempo. I want to keep that checker to build the 4- or 3-pts later. Maybe I'm just in a bold-move kind of frame-of-mind (or maybe QF is unfairly assisting me) but I'm going all out:

8/7, 23/18.
