...whereas a lot of real players whose knowledge of the game goes faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar beyond Fish1 or Fish2 are left grinding it out, day in & day out, all because our luckbox streak doesn't fall at the right time.

Anyone particular you had in mind?

OK, serious now for a moment. From what I saw after your first rd match in Novi, you did (or should I say 'failed to do') more than 99% of even our mostly calm US BG players would be able to muster. It would be supernaturalistic in tone for me to say that you had 'earned' your spot in the finals from that, but it was good to see you put that behind you and grind your way back to win the 2nd chance bracket.

But what do we gain by dwelling, or even wasting one second of brain time contemplating our bad luck (equiv. to opp's good luck)? Does it reinforce our idea that we didn't really make mistakes, so we're still good players? I've seen MANY world class players licking their wounds, so it doesn't seem to break any good player / bad player barrier. Does the emotional involvement make one try harder? (Could depend upon the individual, I realize.)
