I find it interesting that the ChiPt report (by CJC) doesn't have the word 'preliminary' attached. That would mean there was only a single division -- Open. Since this event typically has an Open field somewhere in the teens (my recollection), the fact that they had 35 is consistent with a single division.

Which brings up a contentious point: should a player be given full Open ABT credit for an event where intermediates (and potentially even beginners) had no choice but to play in the Open or go home? Probably not the toughest field Richard (an excellent player and deserving champion, without doubt) has ever encountered.
