All sorts of inaccuracies abound. Read the book, which is the 'true story', if such a thing exists.

They definitely Hollywood-ed it up in a big way. The scene where he goes crazy losing all of his money in a negative count was completely bogus. It isn't as if he wouldn't have another change to play if he got up from that table. Hit-and-run was the way big-player team play was always played. You might finish one shoe, at best. If the count tanked, they would get up and leave and look for another table.

Also, nobody was getting beaten up in the back room during the era of the MIT-team.
