Here's a hint

Don't use the gdmfcspofs hint button!
You have to enable the analysis window. With the versions of GNU I currently have it's under View and then toggle on Analysis. Once this is done make sure to save it, Settings >> Save Settings so the next time you open GNU the analysis window appears.
Now that you can see the analysis window in the bottom right hand corner of the GNU window, whenever you input a play you make a play and analayze it. Once analyzed (whatever ply, doesn't matter) you can highlight the plays you want to rollout and simply hit the rollout button just beneath the plays themselves.
This allows you to stop, save, & restart rollouts as needed. It also allows you to save the rollout itself in case you want to extend it later or simply save it to do something with the results later. Using the ghetto hint feature, you get the results, and unless you copy & paste them as text they're lost once you've closed the rollout.
You can also turn off automatic updates, that would have solved this particular problem, but the bigger issue is why not do the rollouts the reliable way?
