Here's a hint

For a single position:
- Start a new match. (human v. human, manual dice)
- When the dice pop up pick the dice you want (if it's doubles to play you'll have to put the other player on roll first, play their roll however, doesn't matter, then choose the doubles for the position you want - same if it's a cube decision)
- Click Edit
- Edit the position, placing the cube in its proper position first, then moving on to the position itself. (to remove the checkers from the board completely simply click in the empty checker tray, then set them up as you like)
- Once you've set up the position, unclick edit, and make a move for the play in question
- After you've made the move & clicked on the dice so now the other person is on roll, go up to the move in question, highlight it, and analyze it.
I should note there are other ways/variations to do this but this is, in my opinion, the most sure fire way to do it. It's very quick once you know what you're doing and once you've learned most of GNU's intricasies you'll have no problems.
