I don't know if this is technically a PC issue. They are the host country. If it were some other host country (like a western country) I assume the same treatment would be given.

My point is that the rule is a joke because: A) it is inconsistent between Olympic sports, B) it is difficult/impossible to verify, C) the reason for the rule (if you believe the IOC president) isn't enforced -- see my example.

I file this under the category of "inconsistent to the point of hypocrisy" practices in 21st Century society. I'm going to have to buy another file cabinet just for this category.
