Actually Chuck, in the aftermath, I DID apologize for commenting about her not paying her staff, it was none of my business and it was a little embarrassing to find out that she paid for her family's travel.

The $10? That is a little more interesting. One would have to know that it is my routine to buy dinner when I win, (maybe even when I get home to the fire station), I think that it is good karma.

Bill Davis invited a big crowd and it cost me about $300 one time, and I have begun to notice those who always show up when there might be a free dinner. I guess you would have to be there, but Elayne is one of those people. I got to thinking this is getting a little expensive, and maybe I ought to temper my generosity a bit?

So, for the waitress convenience, I had it all put on one check and paid for mine and the two staffers. Then for simplicity I collected $10, (like having a $10 off coupon), from the others. So I collected $40, and paid $150 including a $25 gift certificate CJC won and gave to me because she left. Maybe that is weak, or "over the top" as you say... I don't know.
