I want to maximize my shots next roll. Therefore I dont move the checker on the 13, as this would open landing points for my opponent. I further feel, that I am too far down in the race to win without containing the checker if hit. So I have to make my 5 point. This will be difficult, without slotting it now. Yes, if my opponent hits the return shot, he will likely gammon me. But I dont care, since I ought too win much more games this way. I also figure, that my recube will be rather efficient, if my opponent dances with my 5 still slotted. 8/5 is the slotting play which maximizes builders, so I go for that.
