I view this as somewhat of a tactics vs. strategy problem. Tactically, given the huge number of return shots (23?), making the 5-point seems prudent. Strategically, trying to get two checkers around with no outfield landing spot is a tall order.

Blue's 1- and 3-points are only good if opp is on the bar. Besides the race lead that's all Blue has going for him.

Play up to Blue's strength -- 24/16*.
