After 15/8 White has all 3s 21 11 61 total 16 shots. If he break 6pt with 6/2 6/3 it hurt him in race, priming white and containing with 6pt open if hit something down the road but Blue is 47 pips ahead in race after roll so just need to bring his position home. 6pt is valuable as landing point for his checkers from outfield. It looks to me as classic pay now or pay later decision. If Blue pay now and survive, is he home free? There will be some indirects down the road but he will start to clear his most problematic number, so PAY NOW. If Blue pay later his position become weaker for sure without 6pt, so PAY NOW. If Blue wait and pay later does White's position become stronger or weaker? If it will become stronger than it will be argument for pay now. It depend how White roll, so it is not clear for me. It is not easy to volunteer a 16 shots with 47 pips lead in race but 15/8 is classic DMP move which go for more wins and don't affraid of gammons which are not counted. Also if White hit, Blue he has some chances to enter and jump over his prime and win.
