I have a Taki board and travel with it everywhere. I have a custom made cover for it -- several make them and CJC and Jeb Horton can help you with one. I always carry it onboard. It's fits in all the big jet overheads and one of the regionals that Continental flies -- but not the other. And I forget which is which regarding which one it fits in the overhead. But I've never had a problem. I would never check it. And I hesitate to pack it within a checked larger bag for fear of the crushing and other abuse it may sustain.
