Madison is a Swiss, so in terms of playing time it is going to be tougher than other tourneys. It's still not as bad as a chess tourney. And you should be able to play 4 matches per day with clocks, right? 18 minutes to start per match, plus around 4 minutes per game, potentially as many as 17 games in a 9 point match but let's say there are 11 games in a 9 point match. That's 44 minutes + 18 minutes = 62 minutes, or ~2 hours per 9 point match if both players use all their time. That doesn't seem impracticable to me.

Although, the only way to really know is to actually have an event with mandatory clocks. Using them in one or two matches is not the same at all as using them in all games in an event. It's a completely different thing.
