My way to write the move while recording is 55: _3_ 5 (underlining the 3 to show the point is made) for the reasons you say. Likewise I record early 55 making the 3 point from the midpoint as 55: _3_.

I don't know that Nack has written about such questions, but "555" would fundamentally be in line with his philosophy. Nitpickingly, I might say that using a number to denote an action is starting to move away from "action notation," but nobody has ever claimed nactation to be perfectly flexible, uncomplicated, or unambiguous-to-non-geeks.
