how many ppl do you think would accept to use the clock playing myself or Neil for example?
All of them if they had to.
I would accept clocks against a superior player any day. I consider it to my advantage. I'm just so tired of doing all those pipcounts and match equity calculations and shot calculations anyway.
Stick, if I've interpreted some of your previous posts on this subject correctly you may have already thought of it, but here's my suggestion to you if you have a clock. Offer it to every opponent. If they refuse, well then, you know, maybe you should be performing a pipcount before each shake. But I think it's safest to take the pipcount two or three times to make sure you calculated it right. And of course each possible move has numerous factors to consider...
Re Bob's clock usage offer in Madison...Bob is really, really, really good at math and he can really drill down in his calculations over the board, deeper than I'm willing to go. He's probably too good of a sport to do this, but if I were him and someone refused the clock offer, well then I'd just take my good ol' time while using my mathematical abilities to my advantage.
