Clocks allowed

I think many players are generally in favor of the clock but a number recognize, based on their own play and who their opponent is, that a clock is unnnecessary and will never come into play. So, it becomes irrelevant. Probably would not bother them at all.

So, if use is encouraged by other players and/or by TDS -- or by the ABT and/or tournament rules -- I don't think it would be that big a deal. Most of those who have objections to the clock have never played with a clock and that unfamiliarity is the source of the objections.

There are only very few championship class players whose play would be consistently affected by clocks -- and it is though few who repeatedly impact tournament schedules inconveniencing the tournament and all the other players. These few are why clocks should be made mandatory.
