Once again, I strongly disagree. There have been 50 messages in this thread now.

Do a coin flip or card draw for the bye and call it a day. It is fair 100% to all players who have achieved the same record at the same tournament.

Steve Brown should not have to play another round. He beat you all by 2 matches in 9. Another round would take two more hours. Even the 1 point matches could take a long time using the clock and depending on the results.

Make a monetary adjustment if you must and have the player who gets the random bye pay the other two... But just roll dice for the bye.

Neil has a clear advantage if you play backgammon for it, and that is not fair.
