The players all agreed to this. I don't mind the method chosen. Personally I am for Swiss all the way.

Didn't realize that it had been Neil's proposal until later, though. I wasn't sure whether this was the default method they wanted to use to determine byes in the playoffs or just something they came up with on the fly. I think asking someone with that a big conflict of interest how to structure a playoff bracket is not all that great--if they were going to determine the playoff bracket with Neil, they should have also asked me, Tim, and potentially Steve. It worked out okay this time, and I don't really mind the RR DMPs, but they do have some disadvantages: 1) they aren't much better than a random draw anyway, 2) if this had lasted more than 1, or at most 2 rounds, it would have been unfeasible to continue playing, particularly with another match that night (and 1/4 and 1/16 are not really small percentages), 3) it does favor Neil slightly to get the bye.
