I yell at anyone who hits the clock because they rolled their dice off the table. That starts MY countdown, and stops theirs. I will center/pause the clock if one die lands on the floor or goes flying, but it is out of the question for the guy to get back the couple of seconds he wastes as the result of HIS action.

People should be rolling the dice but not flinging them unnecessarily hard. The penalty for too much cocked dice is reduced time for making your play without losing time on your clock, but in the end analysis cocked dice play almost NO part in losing on time. Nobody ever does yet these clock rules discussions go on endlessly. Way out of proportion to the effect clocks have on tournaments, relatively.
