Neil, you've done a lot of BoE work. I think a simulation could clear up all the loose ends.

One would need to set down the rules. E.g.:

1) 10% +-2% of field will receive prize money.

2) With 3 losses or fewer, you are either still in the TY or have received prize money.

3) There will be only one winner but after that, places may be shared.

That's just the beginning (and I'm just suggesting -- there could be better parameters than the ones I've stated). Then you need someone to write the simulation....
