first play as a trap

In Response To: first play as a trap (aoleg1)

Your first roll is 3-2 or 4-1 and you play 13/8. What the opponent think about this?

He might think you've read Advanced Backgammon, 1st edition.

If you're wanting to be giving away 0.050 equity or more on the very first roll hoping to get some of it back on a misplay, be a mensch and play your opening 2-1 6/5 6/4.

Seriously, trying to appear incompetent by making bad opening moves won't fool a competent opponent. Don't bother.
